Hyderabad Police Recover Rs 11 Lakh in Gold, Silver From Theft Ring

(Representational Image: Twitter)�Hyderabad:�The Afzalgunj police on Friday arrested a notorious bag lifting offender including a receiver by recovering 15 tola gold and 22 tola silver ornaments worth Rs 11 lakh.
The arrested accused were Kandi Sampath Reddy, 48, Bolarum, Alwal, and Ramesh Eknath Shinde, 28, gold smith, resident of Begum Bazar.
According to police, on August 5, 2024, police received a complaint from Srikanth Kallepally, 39, TGMSIDC Employee, alleging that his sister Kushanapally Saritha, came to Hyderabad from her native place for Medical checkup, on July 23, 2024. He dropped his sister at MGBS, Hyderabad and boarded an RTC Bus. Later, his sister reached her house at Godavarikhani when she checked her bag which contained gold, silver Ornaments and liquid cash of Rs. 10,000 which were found missing from her bag the same was informed to the complainant over the phone call conversation by his sister.
Based on the complaint, police have registered theft cases and taken up a probe. During the probe, police have collected CCTV footage from BGBS and verified the footage. Police have obtained clues in connection with the accused. Based on the clues, a team of police investigated the case by nabbing the notorious offender Sampath Reddy.
The accused Sampath Reddy was interrogated and he confessed to have committed the offence and informed the receiver’s details. Ramesh received stolen booty and paid an amount. The accused indulged in similar offences in Afzalgunj police limits. Police recovered stolen booty from the accused.
