Andhra Pradesh data highest-ever GST progress in July

The Government of Andhra Pradesh has achieved a significant fiscal milestone in July 2025 by recording highest-ever GST collections for the month since implementation of the Goods and Services Tax regime in 2017.

Chief Commissioner of State Tax Babu A, in a press launch on Friday, mentioned the State’s gross GST collections reached ₹3,803 crore, whereas web collections stood at ₹2,930 crore — marking a 12.12% year-on-year improve.

This surge mirrored robust financial exercise, enhanced compliance, and improved enforcement mechanisms, he mentioned. The SGST collections additionally confirmed sturdy progress at ₹1,226 crore, a 14.47% rise, signalling improved consumption patterns.

For the fourth consecutive month (April to July), Andhra Pradesh reported record-breaking gross and web GST revenues, with July alone witnessing 14% month-on-month progress, the very best amongst southern States and third total nationwide.

Significantly, an IGST settlement of ₹1,704 crore — up 10.69% from July 2024 — boosted the State’s income. A centered compliance drive, strategic deployment of high-performing officers, focused audits, and sturdy analytics performed key roles in reversing earlier fiscal slumps, he added.

The authorities additionally efficiently recovered ₹357 crore through IGST credit score reversals, improved skilled tax collections by 51%, and launched aggressive enforcement towards defaulters.

“These achievements underscore the effectiveness of Andhra Pradesh’s policy-driven method and sign a stabilised fiscal trajectory for the State shifting ahead,” he added.
