Mr. Narayana emphasised that the federal government was prioritizing city infrastructure improvement, and urged the officers to finish initiatives inside the set timelines.
Addressing the three-day workshop for the Municipal Commissioners and engineers on the Directorate of Municipal Administration on Tuesday, Mr. Narayana reviewed the continuing initiatives in 77 municipalities. On the primary day, representatives from 29 municipalities participated.
Mr. Narayana mentioned 85 lakh MT of legacy waste had already been cleared, and one other 20 lakh MT could be eliminated by December this yr.
“From January 2026. all municipal strong waste will probably be processed scientifically,” the Minister mentioned, and introduced that six new waste-to-energy crops could be established, along with the prevailing two, to make all municipalities dump yard–free.
Under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme, the Minister mentioned the federal government aimed toward present consuming water to 90% households in two years. He instructed that accomplished TIDCO homes be allotted to the beneficiaries each Saturday, and that 100% building be accomplished by June subsequent.
The workshop was attended by Municipal Director P. Sampath Kumar, TIDCO Managing Director B. Sunil Kumar Reddy, and Engineer-in-Chief M. Prabhakar Rao.
