Around 1,000 docs, medical employees participate in community hospitals strike

Around 1,000 docs and medical employees from 450 community hospitals participated in a protest organised by the A.P. Speciality Hospitals’ Association (ASHA) to spotlight their plight as a result of pending dues from the State authorities.

ASHA acquired help from the Indian Medical Association, A.P. Government Doctors’ Association, A.P. Junior Doctors’ Association, A.P. Nursing Homes Association. During the protest, the representatives of all of the associations determined to kind a Joint Action Committee (JAC) to formulate the additional plan of action if the federal government did not clear the dues instantly.

While the State authorities launched ₹250 crore on Wednesday evening, the community hospitals determined to proceed the strike on the fifteenth day on Thursday. The whole sum to be paid to the community hospitals, which give free remedies to public beneath Dr. NTR Vaidya Seva scheme, is round ₹2,700 crore.

After the community hospitals introduced discontinuation of providers from October 10, many sufferers had been coming to the federal government hospitals for therapy. According to data, many authorities hospitals are operating at full capability.

“The dues are mounting and sufferers are struggling. Due to discontinuation of providers beneath the scheme, the federal government hospitals within the State have seen a median enhance of 25% in admissions, emergency providers and outpatient providers. Many sufferers are suspending their medical remedies,” mentioned A.P. Government Doctors’ Association president Jayadheer Babu.
