Conserving water sources will enhance groundwater stage, says Naidu

The Chief Minister stated efficient water administration had enabled the State to retailer 82% capability of the reservoirs and barrages this season. He cited the diversion of rainwater and upstream inflows into main initiatives, together with filling the Rayalaseema reservoirs by way of the Handri-Neeva system. “Focus will now be on Velugodu, Uttarandhra, and Galeru–Nagari Sujala Sravanti initiatives,” he added.

Mr. Naidu directed that village tanks and irrigation canals be preserved and stuffed, with energetic participation from the Water Users’ Associations. “About 17% much less rainfall has been recorded within the State. Every drop have to be conserved, with water reaching all farmlands,” he stated, including that the State’s 38,000 minor irrigation tanks may retailer substantial volumes.

The Chief Minister introduced district-wise scores for water administration, and stated irrigation engineering programs could be restructured. He emphasised groundwater recharge as important, warning that over-reliance on deep borewells would result in fluoride contamination and excessive energy prices. Efficient use may minimize these bills by 50%., he noticed

Water Users’ Associations should additionally take accountability for conservation, recharge, and coordination with officers, Mr. Naidu stated, noting that coastal and sure inland districts wanted particular give attention to groundwater enchancment.
