The Enforcement Directorate has summoned Congress chief D Okay Suresh, youthful brother of Karnataka deputy CM D Okay Shivakumar, for questioning in an alleged dishonest case linked to a cash laundering probe towards an area girl, official sources mentioned on Tuesday. The federal probe company had arrested the native girl — 33-year-old Aishwarya Gowda — in April following searches towards her and Congress MLA Vinay Kulkarni. The ED had then mentioned in a press release that the girl claimed proximity with varied “high-profile” politicians and cheated folks by promising them excessive returns towards gold, money and financial institution deposits. She is alleged to have used the title of Suresh and claimed to be his sister. Suresh had additionally lodged a grievance with the Bengaluru Police, saying his title was being “misused”. The ED is known to have recorded the assertion of Kulkarni as a part of the investigation. The cash laundering case towards Gowda and her husband, Harish KN, other than others, stems from varied FIRs filed at totally different police stations in Karnataka.
