#New Delhi: Joint efforts to counter terrorism and bolstering commerce and funding figured prominently in bilateral conferences between exterior affairs minister S Jaishankar and his counterparts from #Central Asian states on Thursday.

The overseas ministers of #Kazakhstan, #Kyrgyzstan, #Tajikistan, #Turkmenistan and #Uzbekistan are in #New Delhi to take part within the fourth version of the #India-#Central Asia Dialogue on Friday. Ahead of the dialogue, Jaishankar held separate conferences along with his counterparts.

Kazakh overseas minister #Murat Nurtleu, Tajik overseas minister #Sirojiddin Muhriddin, Kyrgyz overseas minister Zheenbek Kulubaev and #Turkmenistan overseas minister Rashid Meredov denounced terrorism and backed joint efforts to counter the issue throughout their discussions with Jaishankar.

Jaishankar mentioned in a social media submit that he appreciated Nurtleu’s “reaffirmation of zero tolerance for terrorism”. Jaishankar and Muhriddin agreed on the necessity to “firmly counter terrorism in our region”.

During the assembly with Kulubaev, Jaishankar thanked him for #Kyrgyzstan’s “support and solidarity in countering terrorism”. He additionally welcomed Meredov’s robust condemnation of all types of terrorism.

Jaishankar and his counterparts additionally held discussions on enhancing commerce, funding, connectivity and improvement and power cooperation.

At the assembly along with his Kazakh counterpart, Jaishankar mentioned elements of the bilateral strategic partnership, together with commerce, funding and power cooperation. “Also spoke about widening connectivity with the #Central Asia region,” Jaishankar mentioned on social media.
