A Kollam native who went lacking within the latest boat tragedy off the coast of Mozambique has been confirmed lifeless, MP N.Ok. Premachandran stated in Kollam on Monday (October 20, 2025).

The deceased has been recognized as Sreerag Radhakrishnan (35) of Naduvilakara, Thevalakkara.

He and one other individual, Indrajith (22) of Piravom in Ernakulam district, have been reported lacking after a ship carrying them to the tanker MT Sea Quest for upkeep work capsized on October 16.

There have been 21 individuals on board the boat, together with 14 Indians when it capcised close to Beira port.

“Authorities in Mozambique have confirmed the loss of life of Sreerag. The physique was recovered following a search operation,” Mr. Premachandran advised PTI.

Kollam MP stated the physique was in a badly decomposed state when recovered. “The authorities have assured that each one vital steps can be taken to ship the physique to India,” he added.

Meanwhile, the search continues to be on for Indrajith, in response to his kin. Sreerag’s household stated he had left for Mozambique solely on October 13.

They stated that he had been working for a transport firm for seven years and had returned to India six months in the past after the beginning of his son.

The household stated they’re awaiting communication from the Indian High Commission relating to the repatriation of the mortal stays.
