Man seeks protection for patta land at PGRS; 276 petitions received in Eluru

Highlighting concerns over protection of private landholdings, Bandaru Chandramauli of Chinnavarigudem village in Jangareddygudem mandal on Monday submitted a petition at the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS) seeking protection for his patta land, alleging inaction by the Irrigation department.

The grievance was among 276 petitions received during the PGRS and Revenue Clinics programme held at Eluru District Collectorate, here on Monday.

Among other petitions, Talluri Srinivasa Rao of Pragadavaram-Georgepet in Chintalapudi mandal requested the shifting of an agricultural electricity transformer installed adjacent to his house constructed with government assistance. Vedullapalli Satyavathi of Singarayapalem village in Mudinepalli mandal complained of encroachment on her land in the village common area and sought restoration after due inquiry.

Birudugadda Manikyam of Kodiguden in Dwarakatirumala mandal alleged that his daughter-in-law had fraudulently obtained registration of his small landholding and sought cancellation of the registration and restoration of his land.

District Revenue Officer V. Visweswara Rao, along with Revenue Divisional Officer M. Achyuta Ambarish, KRCC Deputy Collector L. Devakidevi and SC Corporation Executive Director M. Mukkanti, received the petitions.

Addressing the officials, Mr. Visweswara Rao directed them to expedite the disposal of petitions received through PGRS and Revenue Clinics and ensure quality, time-bound solutions. He said Revenue Clinics were an effective platform for resolving revenue-related issues and stressed the need for coordination with field-level officials to ensure petitioner satisfaction.

Special counters were set up for all 28 mandals in the district, where Tahsildars, Deputy Tahsildars and Surveyors received petitions through these clinics.

Officials said several other petitions relating to land acquisition issues, ROR and pattadar passbooks, resurvey extent discrepancies and other revenue-related matters were also received.

District-level officers from various departments, along with Tahsildars, Deputy Tahsildars, Surveyors and other officials, participated in the programme.
