Monsoon session of Bihar Assembly proceedings adjourned until July 22 after paying obituary references

Bihar Assembly proceedings was adjourned until Tuesday (July 22, 2025) 11 a.m. after providing condolences to the departed members of the House. It was acknowledged by the State meeting and council.

Earlier, protests towards particular intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar rocked the Assembly on the inaugural day of the monsoon session on Monday (July 21, 2025).

Members of the CPI(ML) Liberation, a constituent of the INDIA bloc, reached the premises sporting black ‘kurtas’ as a mark of protest towards SIR.

“The Election Commission has ordered the exercise to wrongfully delete the names of a large number of voters, hoping that this would help the ruling NDA, which is likely to suffer a heavy defeat in the upcoming assembly polls. We shall be fighting it out from the House to the streets (sadan se sadak tak),” mentioned Mehboob Alam, the legislature get together chief of the CPI(ML) Liberation.

As proceedings of the House started, many opposition members rose of their seats, elevating slogans towards SIR and likewise in search of a response from Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who was current contained in the meeting, on the current spurt in violent crimes.

AIMIM MLA Akhtarul Iman, whose get together has expressed the need to affix the INDIA bloc in Bihar, stormed into the properly, elevating slogans towards the SIR, solely to be admonished by Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav, who requested him to return to his seat.
