Odisha CM speaks to Bengal gang rape survivor’s father, assures him of help

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has spoken over the telephone with the daddy of a girl hailing from the State who was gang-raped in West Bengal’s Durgapur and warranted him of all help from the State authorities.

The girl hailing from Jaleswar in Odisha’s Balasore district was learning at a personal medical faculty in West Bengal’s Paschim Bardhaman district. She was gang-raped allegedly by some males on Friday (October 10, 2025) night exterior the campus.

Mr. Majhi spoke with the girl’s father, who’s in Durgapur, on Saturday evening.

Quoting Mr. Majhi, a CMO launch stated, “I am extremely saddened and heartbroken after learning about your daughter. I can feel the mental state of a father whose daughter was gang-raped. The State government is completely with you at this critical moment.”

The Chief Minister stated that the State authorities is presently stressing the speedy restoration of the medical pupil and her capacity to guide a traditional life.

Mr. Majhi informed the survivor’s father that he has urged his West Bengal counterpart Mamata Banerjee to make sure that the culprits get the strictest punishment.

Mr. Majhi stated {that a} senior Odisha official is in contact with the West Bengal authorities and is offering all needed authorized help.

He has directed the superintendent of police of Balasore district to be in contact with the Durgapur Police and supply needed help.

Mr. Majhi assured the survivor’s father of offering another help required by the household.

Her father thanked the Chief Minister for his empathy and help.

Earlier on Saturday, Mr. Majhi, although a social media publish, urged Ms. Banerjee to make sure speedy arrest of the accused and exemplary punishment for them.

West Bengal Police on Sunday arrested three individuals in reference to the gang rape.
