Probe ordered into boiler explosion at Ananthapuram industrial unit in Keralas Kasaragod

The Kasaragod District Collector has ordered an investigation into the boiler explosion that destroyed the decor panel industries unit at Ananthapuram Industrial Estate, killing one employee and injuring about 10 others.

The explosion, which occurred on Monday night time, claimed the lifetime of 19-year-old Nazirul Ali from Udaiguri district in Assam and left a number of others with severe burns. At least three of the injured are reported to be in crucial situation. Rescue groups swiftly moved the injured to close by hospitals for therapy.

In an announcement, the District Collector stated strict motion would observe as soon as the investigation establishes the reason for the accident. The probe has been handed over to the Chemical Emergency Response Centre (CHEMREC ) part of the Factories and Boilers division, Ernakulam, which is able to study attainable security lapses and decide the explanations behind the blast.

Security tightened

Meanwhile, the police have tightened safety across the manufacturing facility premises and entry has been restricted.
