According to an order issued on Thursday, Mr. Singh will assume extra cost of the submit from August 1, following the tip of tenure of the incumbent police commissioner, Sanjay Arora, who retires at the moment.
Mr. Singh is a 1988-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer from the AGMUT cadre. He has been serving because the Director General of Home Guards and can now oversee the Delhi Police till a proper appointment is made or additional orders are issued.
Career
In a profession spanning over 36 years, Mr. Singh has held a number of pivotal positions within the Delhi Police and likewise served as the pinnacle of police forces in two northeastern states — Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh.
