Tejasvi Surya to go parliamentary panel on Jan Vishwas Bill, LS speaker reconstitutes committees

BJP chief Tejasvi Surya was on Wednesday (October 1, 2025) appointed the chairman of the choose parliamentary panel to look at the Jan Vishwas Bill, as Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla reconstituted a number of such committees.

BJP chief Baijayant Panda was appointed chairman of the choose committee to look at the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code Bill, whereas the chairpersons of just about all of the department-related parliamentary panels, together with Congress chief Shashi Tharoor, have been re-nominated to their respective positions.

The appointment of Mr. Surya, the two-term sitting Lok Sabha member from Bangalore South, because the chairman of the choose committee on The Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill is taken into account in Parliament circles as a vote of confidence of the BJP prime brass within the younger chief.

BJP leaders Nishikant Dubey and Bhartruhari Matab will proceed as chairmen of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Communication and Information Technology; and Finance, respectively, whereas DMK chief Kanimozhi will head the committee on client affairs, meals and public distribution, the Lok Sabha Secretariat stated.

Congress leaders Tharoor and Charanjit Singh Channi will proceed to go the committees on exterior affairs and agriculture, respectively.

The parliamentary committee to look at the three Home Ministry Bills, together with the Constitution (a hundred and thirtieth Amendment) Bill, is but to be constituted.
