The idea was mooted considering that the time gap of one year is quite long in the context of modern business lifecycles. The Chief Minister, on behalf of Telangana Government, offered to join hands with the WEF in hosting the follow-up forum in the capacity as a strategic partner. Mr. Revanth Reddy raised the proposal during the meeting with WEF managing director, Jeremy Jurgens, and C4IR network strategic impact and integration head, Manju George, at the Telangana Pavilion in Davos.
“Seeing is believing. We would like to showcase to the world the wonderful opportunities and resources our State can offer. So we are ready to host WEF follow-up meets annually in Hyderabad,” the Chief Minister said. The WEF team responded positively despite similar proposals from several countries saying, “We shall take this forward in the near future.” Mr. Jurgens mentioned that the ‘Summer Davos’ is being held annually in China and that there was strong interest from Saudi Arabia.
The Chief Minister made a presentation on the Telangana Rising 2047 vision and the roadmap and strategy being implemented to reach the goal to achieve US $ 3 trillion economy. Mr. Jurgens said the launch of C4IR Telangana was a very positive role model for WEF in India. Referring to the 2047 vision, he said the various facets of the vision opened up opportunities for mutual cooperation. “We would like to partner in the Telangana Rising vision and be a part of the journey. Hyderabad has a great talent base,” he said, explaining about C4IR’s research work on best practices in planning industrial clusters and offered to share information on that front.
Industries and IT Minister D. Sridhar Babu explained about “CURE, PURE, RARE” – the State’s new economic development strategy, as well as the Bharat Future City, the net-zero greenfield smart city project, which was set to become a role model for sustainable urban development in India.
