Two held for chain snatching close to Jolarpet

A 30-year-old man and a juveilene have been arrested by Jolarpet police at Somanayakkanpatti railway station close to Jolarpet city in Tirupattur on Sunday for snatching two sovereigns of gold chain from a girl commuter.

Police stated the arrested individuals have been Okay. Satish, a resident close to Jolarpet and a juvenile. Initial inquiry revealed that sufferer V. Nadiya, a resident of Vishamangalam village close to Tirupattur city, was returning in Bengaluru – Jolarpet passenger prepare after visiting her relations in Bengaluru.

Police stated because the prepare was halting at Somanayakkanpatti railway station, the duo snatched a gold chain from Nadiya. She raised the alarm and railway police rushed to the spot. They analysed CCTV footage within the railway station and located the duo fled the railway station after the incident.

Based on an alert, Jolarpet police carried out checks at varied public spots and nabbed the duo from a hideout close to a bus terminus. The duo advised police that they used to do petty crimes within the space. They observed Nadiya carrying a gold chain and determined to rob it.

A case was registered. Police recovered misplaced jewelry from the duo. They have been lodged at sub-jail in Tirupattur city. A probe is underway.
