South Africa spinner Nonkululeko Mlaba was on Saturday (October 11, 2025) reprimanded and handed one demerit level by the ICC for breaching its Level 1 Code of Conduct throughout the ladies’s World Cup match in opposition to India right here.

South Africa defeated India by three wickets at hand Harmanpreet Kaur and Co. their first lack of the event in Visakhapatanam on Thursday (October 9).

“Mlaba was discovered to have breached Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which pertains to ‘utilizing language, actions or gestures which disparage or which might provoke an aggressive response from a batter upon his/her dismissal throughout an International Match’,” an ICC media launch said.

Mlaba admitted the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by Trudy Anderson of the ICC International Panel of Match Referees, so there was no want for a proper listening to.

The fees have been levelled by on-field umpires Jacquline Williams and Kim Cotton, third umpire Candace le Borde and fourth umpire Sue Redfern.

“Level 1 breaches carry a minimal penalty of an official reprimand, a most penalty of fifty% of a participant’s match charge, and one or two demerit factors,” the ICC mentioned.
