According to an announcement launched on Sunday morning (June 29, 2025) by Andhra Chess Association’s CEO Okay.V. Jwala Mukhi, the match held between June 24 and 29 in Vizianagaram evoked good response from gamers of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Telangana West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh and different States with the lively participation of greater than 150 gamers.
A pupil from Vijayawada Venkata Krishna Karthik gained the primary prize in the principle class. He was given a 20,000 money prize, medal and meritorious certificates throughout the prize distribution ceremony held on Saturday evening (June 28, 2025.) Around ₹3 lakh prize cash has been distributed to 48 gamers of varied classes.
Sharon Rachel Aby of Tamil Nadu obtained first prize within the ladies’s class. Iniyan Gopinathen of Tamil Nadu emerged victorious and obtained first place within the Junior Boys class.
In wheelchair class, a New Delhi pupil Vaibhav Gautham obtained the primary prize and Tamil Nadu participant R. Ashwin has obtained the second prize. President of Chess Federation for Physically Disabled M. Bhaskaran mentioned the winners of the match are eligibile to take part in 24th World Chess Championship-2025 to be held in Goa between July 21 and 31, 2025.
Mr. Mukhi urged the governments to increase their assist to differently-abled individuals to excel in chess competitions since they had been second to none in expertise and it was proved with their gorgeous efficiency within the match held for them within the Fort City.
