54 college students at BC Welfare Boys Hostel in Gadwal undergo from meals poisoning; 32 discharged

Over 50 college students at BC Welfare Boys Hostel in Dharmavaram of Gadwal in Telangana suffered from meals poisoning after having dinner on Friday (October 31, 2025). Altogether, 54 college students had been rushed to the Government Hospital within the district. While 32 had been discharged on Saturday morning, 22 extra may very well be discharged by the afternoon, mentioned the district Collector B.M. Santhosh.

Recalling that he visited the Hostel a month in the past, Mr. Santosh mentioned that no less than three academic establishments are inspected in per week with out prior discover. Food is served to college students after members of Food Safety Committees on the hostel involved have eaten. The members verify high quality of the greens and different groceries used to organize meals. The Collector mentioned that whereas Tahsildars go to the Welfare Hostel on two days a month, orders could be issued to extend the frequency to as soon as per week.
