The arrested officer Harcharan Singh Bhullar was posted as DIG, Ropar Range in Punjab.

The CBI caught the personal particular person red-handed whereas demanding and accepting ₹8 lakh from the complainant on behalf of Mr. Bhullar, the DIG in Chandigarh, the assertion mentioned.

During searches at varied premises linked to the general public servant in Punjab and Chandigarh, the CBI seized substantial money and incriminating materials, together with money of roughly ₹5 crore, paperwork pertaining to immovable properties and property in Punjab, jewelry weighing about 1.5 kg, keys of two luxurious automobiles (Mercedes and Audi), 22 luxurious watches, locker keys, 40 litres of imported liquor, one double-barrel gun, one pistol, one revolver, and one air gun together with ammunition amongst others.
