Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy inaugurated the Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Yatra Commemoration held at Charminar and recalled the previous Prime Minister’s efforts to uphold nationwide integrity and communal concord.

The occasion was attended by Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Mahesh Kumar Goud, who unfurled the occasion flag, together with ministers Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Uttam Kumar Reddy, former MP V. Hanumantha Rao, authorities advisor Mohd. Ali Shabbir, senior Congress leaders Chinna Reddy and former Union Minister Salman Khurshid.

During the programme, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy introduced the “Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Award” to former Union Minister Salman Khurshid for his contributions to selling concord and nationwide unity.

Speaking on the event, the Chief Minister stated that Rajiv Gandhi undertook the Sadbhavana Yatra to guard the unity and integrity of the nation, and the programme was being organized to proceed his spirit and beliefs. “I congratulate the organisers for honouring Salman Khurshid with the Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Award,” he added.

Mr. Revanth lauded the Gandhi household’s historic sacrifices for the nation, saying, “The phrase Gandhi has turn out to be synonymous with India. The Iron Lady, Indira Gandhi, sacrificed her life for the nation’s integrity, and Rajiv Gandhi adopted her path. Three generations of the Gandhi household have given their lives for the nation.”

He additional stated that Salman Khurshid’s affiliation with the Gandhi household spans three generations, and that his household has been working with the Congress management for many years. “It is a matter of satisfaction for all of us that Salman Khurshid is receiving the Rajiv Gandhi Sadbhavana Award,” he stated.

Highlighting Rajiv Gandhi’s contributions, the Chief Minister reminded that he empowered youth by reducing the voting age to 18 and emphasised the necessity for a constitutional modification to permit youth aged 21 to contest within the legislative assemblies.

Drawing a parallel, Mr. Revanth famous that Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra was impressed by the identical beliefs of unity and peace that Rajiv Gandhi stood for.

Turning to state politics, the Chief Minister accused the BRS of appearing because the “B-Team” of the BJP, alleging that the 2 events had a secret understanding over the past parliamentary elections, with 21 % of BRS votes not directly benefiting the BJP. He additional alleged that each events have been plotting comparable methods within the upcoming Jubilee Hills by-election to separate the opposition vote.

“The folks of Telangana should acknowledge and reject these conspiracies,” Mr. Revanth asserted, calling for unity to guard the democratic spirit of the State.
