Spread over practically 38 acre, the lake is a significant groundwater supply for Thirumullaivoyal and the encircling neighbourhood. It belongs to the chain of water our bodies within the western fringes of town. The lake’s extra water drains into Ambattur lake. S. Sundaramurthy, its president stated “We have been preventing a battle for restoration of the lake for seven years now. The organisation demanded that the lake be desilted and bund be strengthened. Officials of the Water Resources Department stated they’re within the strategy of giving no objection certificates to facilitate Avadi company to implement the work.
