The full-length operation of the hall, generally known as Aqua Line, began with the departure of the primary trains from each the terminals at 5.55 a.m., an official from the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) stated.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday (October 8, 2025) inaugurated the ultimate section of the Mumbai Metro Line-3 between Acharya Atre Chowk and Cuffe Parade, marking a significant milestone within the metropolis’s infrastructure growth.
Till Wednesday (October 8, 2025), the Aqua Line operation was restricted between Acharya Atre Chowk and Aarey JVLR.
With the opening of the ten.99-km ‘Phase 2B’, the town’s first totally underground metro hall overlaying a distance of 33.5 km between Cuffe Parade in South Mumbai and Aarey JVLR within the western suburbs, turned fully operational from Thursday (October 9).
“Phase 2B of the Mumbai Metro Line-3 is a significant enhancement to Mumbai’s infrastructure. Metro connectivity is essential for a city’s growth. This project will have a positive impact on the lives of the people of Mumbai,” PM Modi stated on X on Wednesday (October 8).
