Following the founder’s stepping down, Ershad Kunnakkadan was named the brand new CEO of Gumroad.

Announcing the information of this alteration, Lavingia tweeted, “Exciting information: after 14 years, I’m stepping down as CEO of Gumroad. I’ve discovered the proper chief to take over for me: Ershad Kunnakkadan. (While he simply moved to NYC this 12 months, he’s been with Gumroad remotely for 8 of these 14 years).”

He continued, “He’ll run Gumroad in a different way, and we’ll restart our quarterly public board conferences in Jan 2026 (I stay the board) so everybody can study alongside us as we make this transition.”
Replying to Lavingia, Kunnakkadan posted, “Thank you, Sahil Lavingia, for the inspiration, the steerage, the instance, and for trusting me with this new position. I’m tremendous excited and honoured. So happy with the group and able to serve our creators much more!”

Who is Ershad Kunnakkadan?
According to his LinkedIn profile, he started working as a developer intern in 2012 and transitioned to a software program engineer position in 2013. After working remotely after which full-time within the UAE, he began working full-time at Gumroad.
