Fire breaks out at Hindalco’s New York plant, second time in over two months

Aditya Birla Group agency Hindalco Industries on Friday (November 21, 2025) mentioned a fireplace broke out at its plant in New York and there have been no accidents.

The firm’s plant in Oswego, New York is of its U.S. subsidiary Novelis. This is the second incident of fireside on the firm’s plant in a little bit over two months.

“There was an incident of fire at the Novelis Plant in Oswego, New York, on November 20, 2025, at around 8.45 a.m. (EDT),” Hindalco mentioned in a submitting to BSE.

Everyone working on the plant was safely evacuated and happily, there have been no accidents, the corporate mentioned.

Multiple native hearth departments responded, and the fireplace is now out, it mentioned, including, “crews remain on site to monitor”.

Fire in September

Earlier, Hindalco Industries had mentioned that the manufacturing at its plant in New York had been halted following a fireplace incident on September 16.

The firm had mentioned it was investigating the reason for the fireplace and figuring out the influence on its operations.

“There was a fireplace incident on the Novelis Plant in Oswego, New York, on September 16, 2025, at round 10 p.m. (EDT), Hindalco had mentioned in its earlier assertion.

“The plant is insured for property damage and business interruption losses related to such events, subject to deductibles and policy limits,” it mentioned.

Novelis is a number one producer of flat-rolled aluminium merchandise and a recycler of aluminium.
