Iran FM says Tehran won’t abandon nuclear enrichment

Iran has no plans to desert its nuclear programme, together with uranium enrichment, regardless of “severe” harm to its services after U.S. strikes final month, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated Monday (July 21, 2025).

For now, enrichment “is stopped because, yes, damages are serious and severe,” Mr. Araghchi advised Fox News‘ “Special Report with Bret Baier.”

“But obviously we cannot give up enrichment because it is an achievement of our own scientists,” he continued, calling it a supply of “national pride.”

He burdened that any future nuclear deal must comprise the correct to enrichment.

When requested whether or not any enriched uranium had been saved from the strikes, Araghchi stated he had “no detailed information,” however that Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization is “trying to evaluate what has exactly happened to our nuclear material, to our enriched material.”

Washington bombed three nuclear services in Iran on June 22 to help Israel’s 12-day navy offensive, together with the Fordow underground uranium enrichment website situated south of Tehran.

Mr. Trump welcomed Mr. Araghchi’s feedback in a put up on his Truth Social platform on Monday.

“Just like I said, and we will do it again, if necessary!” posted the U.S. President.

Mr. Araghchi’s remarks come as Tehran is ready to carry new talks on its nuclear program with Germany, France and the United Kingdom on Friday (July 25, 2025) in Istanbul.

Regarding negotiations with the United States to de-escalate regional stress, Mr. Araghchi stated “we are open to talks” however “not direct for the time being.”

“We are ready to do any confidence-building measure needed to prove that Iran’s nuclear program is peaceful” in change for lifted US sanctions, he added.

The Foreign Minister additionally confirmed that Iran would proceed to develop and manufacture missiles.
