Mr. Trump has sought to impose tariffs on U.S. importers for nearly all overseas items, which he says will stimulate home manufacturing and which critics say will as an alternative make many client items costlier for Americans.
He has referred to as for a common base tariff fee of 10% on items imported from all nations, with greater charges for imports from probably the most “problematic” ones, together with China: imports from there now have the best tariff fee of 55%.
