British police have arrested two males on suspicion of homicide after the previous Lostprophets singer Ian Watkins was stabbed to demise at a jail in northern England, the place he was serving a 29-year sentence for baby intercourse offences.

Emergency companies have been referred to as to HMP Wakefield in West Yorkshire on Saturday (October 11, 2025) morning after Watkins, 48, was attacked with a knife. He was pronounced lifeless on the scene. A homicide investigation is underway following the arrests of two males, aged 25 and 43, West Yorkshire Police mentioned in a press release.

In 2013, Watkins pleaded responsible to 13 prices, together with making an attempt to rape a child, sexually touching a 1-year-old, encouraging a fan to abuse her baby and making baby pornography.

At the time of his sentencing, Judge John Royce referred to as Watkins a manipulative and harmful sexual predator who had abused his fame to assist fulfill his “insatiable lust”. “Those who’ve appeared in these courts over a few years see numerous horrific instances,” Mr. Royce mentioned in sentencing at Cardiff Crown Court. “This case, nevertheless, breaks new floor.”

Watkins was the lead singer for Lostprophets, a Welsh rock band that topped the U.Okay. charts in 2006 with its third album, “Liberation Transmission.” The band introduced it was disbanding after Watkins’ arrest.
