Several Republican lawmakers who hadn’t but voted on the procedural step weren’t even on the Capitol. “One of them needed to attend a household occasion… a few of them are on their approach again now,” Johnson advised Fox News’ Sean Hannity on Wednesday evening.
The House Speaker confirmed the procedural vote, which might enable the invoice to maneuver to a remaining vote, will stay open “so long as it takes” so lawmakers can ask questions.

Right now, Republicans can afford to lose solely three votes to maintain the invoice alive. But, 4 GOP members have voted “no.”
“I believe they’re open for dialog,” Johnson advised NBC News, referring to the 4 Republicans standing in the best way. He added that he’s already spoken to a few of them and is “looking for the fourth one.”
One of the dissenters, Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania, solid his “no” vote and exited the chamber earlier within the night.
“Everybody desires to ship this agenda for the folks, and we’re going to present them each alternative to try this,” he advised NBC News.
