Two individuals died and one was injured in a aircraft crash in Mocksville, North Carolina, whereas attempting to keep away from a turtle on the runway.

The incident occurred on 3 June at Sugar Valley Airport, about 60 miles northeast of Charlotte.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) mentioned in its preliminary report that the pilot tried to manoeuvre across the reptile simply earlier than takeoff, a split-second swerve that proved deadly.

The pilot and one passenger have been pronounced useless on the scene. Another passenger sustained severe accidents and was transported to a neighborhood hospital.
