External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar offered worship at Tiruvanaikoil, Srirangam and Rockfort temples in the city on Monday.  

Accompanied by wife Kyoko Jaishankar, the Minister at first went to Jambukeswarar temple at Thiruvanaikoil in the morning where he was accorded a warm reception at the entrance by the temple staff.

The Union Minister and his wife offered worship at the Sivan sannidhi, Goddess Akilandeswari sannidhi and at the Prasanna Vinayagar shrine. They were given temple honours at the Kolu Mandapam. Thereafter, they proceeded to Srirangam Sri Ranganathaswamy temple where he was given a warm reception at the entrance. 

The Minister offered prayers at Sri Ramanujar sannidhi and Sri Garudazhvar sannidhi before worshipping Lord Ranganathar at the sanctum sanctorum. He went to ‘Thayar’ Sannidhi.

Police sources said Mr. Jaishankar and his wife visited the Rockfort Thayumanaswamy temple and offered worship in the evening. Thereafter, they left for Kumbakonam in Thanjavur district.
