Malik Beasley, a free agent at present, may be on the verge of dropping a large $42 million contract after the US District Attorney’s workplace introduced that the Detroit Pistons star is beneath investigation for playing. ESPN and the Associated Press first broke the information, citing sources.

“We are cooperating with the federal prosecutors’ investigation,” NBA spokesman Mike Bass stated in a press release launched to the AP. The probe comes 14 months after the NBA banned Toronto’s Jontay Porter, who was linked to a prop wager investigation. He pleaded responsible to committing wire fraud.

Mike Beasley’s contract negotiations paused

Malik Beasley and the Pistons had been reportedly in ‘severe talks’ for a $42 million, three-year deal ($14 million yearly). The free agent set a Pistons document with 319 three-pointers in 2024-25, averaging 16.3 factors and 41.6% from three.
