The State Medical Education & Drugs Department on Wednesday (July 30, 2025) said that for the implementation of 10% EWS reservation, the Central authorities has to compensate for the reservation influence on different class seats.
“For MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BHMS and BUMS programs, this reservation can be relevant provided that the central Government / respective council will increase current seats. For programs apart from MBBS/ BDS/ BAMS/ BHMS and BUMS programs, 10% EWS reservation can be relevant on obtainable seats,” mentioned Dileep Sardesai, Commissioner and Competent Authority, State Common Entrance Test Cell within the notification.
The transfer comes after the federal government confronted backlash from medical aspirants and their dad and mom over the ten% EWS quota implementation within the non-public medical faculties.
