The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB), on behalf of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, shall be internet hosting the four-day Asia Pacific Accident Investigation Group (APAC-AIG) assembly.
“It will be the first time that India will be hosting the APAC-AIG meeting. There will be participation of representatives from aircraft accident investigation bureaux of Asia Pacific countries as well as from the ICAO,” AAIB director common G.V.G. Yugandhar instructed PTI.
Various facets of plane accident investigations, together with the processes and reporting, shall be mentioned on the assembly. Around 90 delegates, together with 60 from numerous international locations within the Asia Pacific area, will take part within the assembly.
On October 28 and 29, workshops associated to plane accident investigations shall be held. Those workshops may have officers from AAIB, DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation), together with worldwide contributors. The representatives from ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation) member states within the Asia Pacific area and AAIB officers will maintain discussions on October 30 and 31.
The assembly shall be inaugurated by Civil Aviation Minister Okay. Rammohan Naidu on October 28.
The AAIB is liable for classification of security occurrences involving plane working within the Indian airspace into accidents, critical incidents, and incidents. It carries out detailed investigations into accidents and in addition suggests measures to enhance security. Currently, the AAIB is dealing with round 25 plane accident investigations, together with the deadly Air India airplane crash that killed 260 folks on June 12, 2025.
