Neolite ZKW Lightings plans 150 crore production facility in Chennai

Having started a manufacturing unit in Pune last month, its third plant in India, Neolite ZKW Lightings Ltd, a manufacturer and global supplier of automotive lighting products and components for OEMs Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), across vehicle categories is planning to set up a new plant in Chennai which should start production in 2028, a top executive said.

This plant will come up with an investment of ₹150 crore. “We have already acquired land this plant will be start operation in 2028,” Rajesh Jain, Chairman and Managing Director, Neolite ZKW Lightings Ltd said. 

He said the demand for automotive lights is growing in tune with the rise in automobile sales in the country and the momentum would continue for the 10 years and so.

The company on Friday (January 23, 2026) organised a Commemorative Ceremony of its manufacturing facility in Pune which was attended by Won Yong Hwang, CEO, ZKW Group GmbH, a subsidiary of Korean major LG Electronics. 

The company has also established an independent design centre equipped with modern design tools and simulation software, 3D modelling, optical design, prototyping, and validation support. 

The design centre plays a crucial role in enhancing the company’s in-house product development capabilities, reducing time-to-market, and ensuring that its solutions meet global performance, and regulatory standards. 

Won Yong Hwang, CEO, ZKW Group GmbH said, “India continues to emerge as a strategic market for the global automotive industry. Neolite ZKW’s expansion in Pune represents a positive step toward advancing next-generation automotive lighting solutions, and we look forward to continued collaboration in technology and innovation.”

Mr. Jain said, “With this facility, we are better positioned to respond timely to customer requirements, drive innovation in automotive lighting, and create employment opportunities in the region. After this, our next focus will be to get our Kancheepuram facility in Tamil Nadu up and running and we are working very hard to get that done.”

“The Pune facility is designed to focus on manufacturing of automotive lighting products and components including moulding, surface treatment and assembly. Further, in line with the shift toward electrification and sustainability, we also offer certain electric vehicle focused lighting products. At the same time, our portfolio is powertrain agnostic that serves both EVs and internal combustion engine vehicles.” said Rajesh Soni, CEO, Neolite ZKW.

The company has invested ₹70 crore in the first phase of the Pune plant which has an installed capacity of 2.8 million units per year. Plans are on for the second phase with equal capacity expansion.

The company is planning an IPO of about ₹600 crore which will include Offer for Sale and Fresh Issue. There would be dilution of 25%.
