Wholesale Price Inflation turns optimistic after 2 months, at 0.52% in August

Wholesale worth inflation (WPI) returned to the optimistic zone after two months at 0.52% in August, as costs of meals articles and manufactured gadgets inched up, authorities information confirmed on Monday (September 15, 2025).

WPI-based inflation was (-) 0.58 and (-) 0.19% in July and June, respectively. It was 1.25% in August final yr.

“Positive charge of inflation in August 2025 is primarily resulting from a rise in costs of meals merchandise, manufacturing, non-food articles, non-metallic mineral merchandise and transport tools and so forth,” the trade ministry mentioned in a press release.
