They have been protesting towards the failure to simply accept Minister of School Education Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi’s demand to cease building of a hen manure-based fish feed manufacturing pellet unit.
Raising the problem on the council assembly held right here, DMK councillor (Ward 16) M. Mathivanan stated quite a few residents had strongly opposed the choice of the Corporation to erect a pellet manufacturing unit on a parcel of land on the premises of Ariyamangalam dump yard, which was reclaimed by a biomining challenge. They had expressed fears that the unit would trigger extreme air pollution within the neighbouring residential colonies. They met Mr. Poyyamozhi and expressed their sturdy reservations on the challenge. The Minister then urged Corporation officers to cease the development work instantly. However, the work was nonetheless occurring.
Mr. Mathivanan stated he and different councillors would stage a walkout in protest towards the continued work.
By the time Mayor M. Anbazhagan responded, Mr. Mathivanan and 24 DMK councillors, recognized as supporters of Mr. Poyyamozhi, together with Deputy Mayor G. Divya, Congress councillors S. Sujatha and Govindaraj and CPI (M) councillor S. Suresh walked out. However, different DMK councillors, recognized as supporters of Municipal Administration Minister Okay.N. Nehru, remained seated.

Attack on home
Raising the problem of assault on her home allegedly by a contractor just a few days in the past at OkayK. Nagar, DMK councillor (Ward 64) Malarvizhi Rajendran stated a gaggle of individuals vandalised her home. The incident recommended there was no security for councillors. The Mayor had not taken any motion towards the contractor.
V. Leelva Velu, one other DMK councillor, endorsed the cost, saying the Mayor had not even visited Ms. Malarvizhi’s home. Ms. Sujatha, former Mayor, additionally questioned the Mayor for failing to take motion.
Mr. Anbazhagan, nevertheless, stated it was flawed to assert motion was not taken. The contractor can be blacklisted.
