Inaugurating the three-day Karnataka State Junior and under-23 Athletics occasion within the Mahatma Gandhi district stadium at Ajjarkad in Udupi, Mr. Parameshwara stated Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, through the inauguration of Federation Cup Athletics Championship in Mangaluru not too long ago, had assured launch of ₹5 crore and ₹3 crore for enchancment of sports activities infrastructure in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts respectively.
Proposal for using ₹3 crore has already been submitted to the federal government. He will make efforts for the discharge of the quantity, the Minister stated. The organisers of the athletic occasion have sought launch of ₹30 lakh for the current occasion. He will ask the federal government to launch it shortly, Mr. Parameshwara stated.
The occasion was organised by Udupi District Amateur Athletic Association. MAHE Deemed to be University Pro Chancellor H.S. Ballal, MLA for Udupi Yashpal Suvarna, Ok. Raghupati Bhat and Vinay Kumar Sorake, former MLAs, Udupi Deputy Commissioner T.Ok. Swaroopa, Udupi Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar, and Udupi Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Prateek Bayal participated within the inaugural programme.
