Andal temple witnesses large turnout of devotees on Vaikunta Ekadasi

Hundreds of devotees thronged Andal temple here in the early hours of Tuesday to watch the opening of Paramapada Vasal on Vaikunta Ekadasi.

The Paramapada Vasal was opened at 5.30 a.m. through which the processional deities, Andal and Lord Rengamannar, were taken in a procession amidst loud chanting of “Govinda, Gopala” by the devotees and playing of nagaswaram.

The deities were taken to Rapaththu mandapam where special puja and deeparadhana were performed.

Sadagopa Ramanuja Jeeyar of Manavala Mamunigal math, Srivilliputtur MLA E.M. Manraj, Principal District Judge K. Jeyakumar, Superintendent of Police D. Kannan, and temple Executive Officer S. Sakkaraiammal were present.

Special puja

The Vaikunta Ekadasi festival marked by opening of Paramapada Vasal attracted a large number of devotees at Soundaraja Perumal temple at Thadikombu in Dindigul district.

After performing tirumanjanam, the processional deity of Lord Soundararaja Perumal was taken through the Paramapada Vasal. The presiding deity gave darshan to the devotees before being taken to the Paramapada Mandapam.

Temple fitman Annakodi and Executive Officer Yuvaraj, were present.
