The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested an Assistant Labour Commissioner (Central), Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India, Puducherry and a person who liaised for him, in a bribery case.

A press word mentioned the CBI had registered a case following allegations that the accused Assistant Labour Commissioner, Ramesh Kumar, and R. Elango, had demanded ₹1 lakh as unlawful gratification for issuing two labour licences to a personal firm, which had undertaken an NHAI street contract in Tiruchi.
