CPI(M) district secretary M. Jaggunaidu questioned how an MNC could possibly be allowed to function close to RK Beach, the place the Indian Navy organises operational demonstrations with VVIPs such because the President, Prime Minister, Defence Minister, Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister in attendance.
The 13.74 acres of land, valued at round ₹3,000 crore, was allotted to the MNC at ₹1.50 per sq. yard. Alleging a rip-off within the land allotment, he demanded that the Centre ought to order a CBI inquiry into the problems.
Pointing out that Visakhapatnam, the industrial capital of A.P., attracts lakhs of vacationers, he mentioned the land be utilised for creating some public facilities.
He warned that the CPI(M) would intensify agitation if the land allotment was not cancelled.
GVMC Floor Leader B. Ganga Rao mentioned opposite to the statements of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu that the mall would supply various jobs, it will throw small merchants out of their employment.
CPI(M) district secretariat member P. Mani referred to as upon the folks to oppose the ‘unlawful’ land allotments to company teams and MNCs.
CPI(M) district committee leaders RKSV Kumar, Botta Eswaramma, P. Pydiraju, A. Surendra Kumar, Ok. Ramaprabha, L.J. Naidu and S. Jyothiswara Rao have been amongst those that participated within the protest.
