At current, there are 11 ESIC hospitals within the State. Three run by the ESIC – ESIC Medical College and Hospital at K.K. Nagar in Chennai, and two 100-bed ESIC Hospitals at Tirunelveli and Tiruppur.
The remaining eight ESIC services are run by the State authorities – Salem, Hosur, Tiruchi, and Vellore (50 beds every); Sivakasi (100), Madurai (200), Coimbatore (506), and Ayanavaram (616).
Apart from these services, there are 241 ESIC dispensaries within the State, officers stated.
