In a press launch on Tuesday, Mr. Kalyan, who can be the Minister for Forests, stated a herd of elephants that had been on the rampage round Bangarupalyam had been diverted into the wild by skilled elephants sourced from Karnataka.
He complimented the officers and employees involved within the Forest Department for engaging in the duty of reining in a bunch of elephants that had been destroying mango orchards close to Mogili village in Bangarupalyam Mandal.
Trained elephants Krishna, Jayanth, and Vinayak blocked the wild elephants from heading in direction of the crops, and guided them again into the forests.
The operation lasted from Saturday (August 2) night time until Sunday morning. A two – month coaching was given to the elephants introduced in from Karnataka.
Mr. Kalyan stated Operation Kumki was made doable by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, and that he was grateful to Karnataka CM Siddharamaiah and Forest and Environment Minister Eshwar Khandre for his or her cooperation.
