A person who was allegedly set ablaze by his neighbour, who was later discovered hanging in his home, in Kochi metropolis in Kerala stays critical as he continues to endure remedy within the intensive care unit of a personal hospital with 60% burns, whereas his spouse’s situation stays secure.

Christopher, 54, and his spouse Mary, 50, of Golden Street Road in Vaduthala, who have been returning on scooter after attending a church competition of their neighbourhood, have been allegedly stopped close to their home by their neighbour Williams Correya, 52, and set ablaze after throwing petrol over them on Friday (July 18, 2025) round 8 p.m. Williams fled the scene instantly thereafter. Later, the police discovered him hanging inside his home.

The couple have been rushed to a close-by hospital the place they continue to be admitted. According to hospital sources, Christopher stays essential with extreme burns to his palms, chest and thighs. “He should endure surgical procedure. Nothing may be stated about his situation earlier than 24 hours. His spouse although is comparatively secure and stays admitted within the ward,” stated sources. The couple was rushed to the hospital on Friday at 9.48 p.m.

It is learnt that neighbours had a protracted working feud culminating within the grotesque incident. The couple, reportedly, had lodged a police criticism towards Williams who had allegedly thrown waste into the couple’s compound. Following this, Christopher had mounted a CCTV digicam in his property and this appears to have turned Williams extra livid.

The Ernakulam Town North police have registered a case.
