Over 2,500 students receive degrees at Crescent Institute

“As graduates you must step into the future with enthusiasm and be victorious,” said Govi Chezhiaan, Higher Education Minister at the 15th Convocation ceremony of B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute of Science and Technology here on Sunday. A total of 2,991 students including 65 Ph.D., 774 postgraduate, and 2,152 undergraduate candidates received their degree at the ceremony.

Speaking at the event, the Minister said, “Your effort is not just competition for our country but also for the world. All of you must become entrepreneurs and become employers to increase employment for everyone.”

As many as 63 students were awarded gold medals for securing top ranks.

Among them, 38 students were undergraduates and 25 students were postgraduates. During the convocation, 759 students received their degrees in person, and 2,232 students attended the convocation online.

Noting that staying committed will yield results, Jinnah Rafiq Ahmed, executive chairman, Kothari Industrial Corporation said that Indians have a challenge with commitment. “Please work hard, work smart, and you’ll see a lot of changes in your life, and give a lot of value to society,” he said.

Chancellor of the institute Qurrath Jameela, Pro Chancellor Abdul Qadir A. Rahman Buhari, Vice Chancellor in-charge A. Peer Mohamed, Pro-Vice Chancellor N. Thajuddin, Registrar N. Raja Hussain, and members of the executive council were present.
