Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday (August 17, 2025) inaugurated the Delhi part of the Dwarka Expressway and the Urban Extension Road-II (UER- II), price practically ₹11,000 crore, that are aimed toward decreasing site visitors jams in Delhi and its surrounding areas.

The two tasks have been developed underneath the federal government’s complete plan to decongest the capital, with the target of drastically enhancing connectivity, chopping journey time, and decreasing site visitors in Delhi and its surrounding areas.

The 10.1-kilometre lengthy Delhi part of Dwarka Expressway has been developed at a value of round ₹5,360 crore. The part may also present multi-modal connectivity to Yashobhoomi, Delhi Metro Blue line and Orange line, upcoming Bijwasan railway station and Dwarka cluster bus depot.

The stretch has been divided into two components: bundle I: 5.9 km from Shiv Murti intersection to the Road Under Bridge (RUB) at Dwarka Sector-21 and bundle II: 4.2 km from Dwarka Sector-21 RUB to the Delhi-Haryana Border, offering direct connectivity to Urban Extension Road-II.

Mr. Modi interacted with labourers whereas doing inspection of the Dwarka Expressway. He additionally held a roadshow in Mundka-Bakkarwala Village Toll Plaza, Delhi.

The 19-kilometre lengthy Haryana part of the Dwarka Expressway was earlier inaugurated by the Prime Minister in March 2024.

Mr. Modi additionally inaugurated the Alipur to Dichaon Kalan stretch of Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II) together with new hyperlinks to Bahadurgarh and Sonipat, constructed at a value of round ₹5,580 crore.

It will ease site visitors on Delhi’s Inner and Outer Ring Roads and busy factors like Mukarba Chowk, Dhaula Kuan, and NH-09. The new spurs will give direct entry to Bahadurgarh and Sonipat, enhance industrial connectivity, minimize metropolis site visitors, and velocity up items motion within the NCR.
