Proceedings in dishonest case in opposition to Nivin Pauly, Abrid Shine stayed

The Kerala High Court has stayed the proceedings in an alleged dishonest case filed in opposition to actor Nivin Pauly and director Abrid Shine in reference to the making of the film Action Hero Biju 2.

A case had been registered in opposition to them by the Thalayolaparambu police on a criticism filed by movie producer P.S. Shamnas. His allegation was that after coming into into an settlement to provide the movie, the movie’s abroad rights have been allegedly offered to a different occasion with out his data.

Mr. Shamnas alleged that the petitioners promised him a co-producer function in Action Hero Biju 2 and income from its abroad rights, after the ‘failure’ of one other film during which he had invested over ₹3.50 crore. But the petitioners offered the movie’s abroad rights to a Dubai-based agency for ₹5 crore.

The petitioners contended that the dispute was civil in nature and that it lacked the weather of dishonest and legal breach of belief. They mentioned the Justice of the Peace involved forwarded the criticism to the police, though the police had earlier discovered no grounds for a legal probe within the case.

Passing the order, a Bench of Justice V.G. Arun mentioned there was advantage within the petitioners’ rivalry that the dispute was civil in nature and that the complainant should resort to civil cures.
