Save MKU Coalition urges authorities to launch sufficient funds to revive Madurai Kamaraj University

The Save MKU Coalition organised a gathering on Sunday and mentioned the varied points plaguing Madurai Kamaraj University. The members provided options to resolve the issues on the college.

Secretary R. Murali stated the target of the assembly was to deliberate on the varied vital points and to establish doable options.

President A. Srinivasan highlighted the plight of pensioners who have been struggling because of the delay in disbursal of pensions. He strongly urged that each salaries and pensions should be paid punctually on the primary day of each month.

Treasurer S. Krishnasamy expressed critical concern over the federal government’s reluctance to launch the grants to the college citing pending audit objections. He stated this perspective worsened the monetary disaster of the establishment.

Three rounds of discussions have been held in the course of the assembly specializing in the college’s monetary decline, points regarding lecturers, pensioners, employees, analysis students and college students. These classes have been presided over by Secretary of the Tamil Nadu Retired College Teachers Association N. Periyathambi and P. Rajamanaickam of save MKU.

Several resolutions have been handed in the course of the assembly. The members of Save MKU Coalition stated the Vice-Chancellor publish remained vacant for an extended interval and it severely broken the already deteriorating administration. A Vice-Chancellor needs to be appointed on a purely merit-based and clear course of, they stated.

They demanded that the federal government launch ample grants to allow the college to pay salaries and pensions on the primary day of each month immediately. If the audit objections level to monetary irregularities, a separate committee needs to be constituted to inquire into them. The members stated the allocation of the grants was diminished, whereas the grants have been elevated for another universities. Such disparity was unacceptable and should be corrected.

Some of the opposite resolutions included regularisation of the companies of informal labourers who had served for greater than ten years, structure of particular grievance redressal cells for the scholars and analysis students, Internal Complaints Committee, to conduct Students Union Elections, a particular Syndicate assembly to approve Ph.D. outcomes. Save MKU Coalition appealed to the federal government to launch sufficient funds to revive Madurai Kamaraj University.
