Telangana govt will increase life tax on two, three, four-wheelers and different non-transport autos from August 14

Telangana Transport division has hiked life tax on two-wheelers, four-wheelers and different non-transport class autos efficient from Thursday (August 14, 2025). 

As per the outdated regime, the tax charges for brand spanking new 4 wheelers ranged from 12% to 14% relying on the price of the car. For two wheelers, it was calculated at 9%. Similarly, non-transport three wheelers had been additionally taxed at 12%.

New life tax on two-wheelers

According to a authorities order dated August 13, the hiked life tax on two-wheelers is between 9% and 18% relying on the worth of the car.

For three wheelers, and 4 wheelers, and autos with as much as 10 seats, below the non-transport class, the tax charges are between 13% and 21% for brand spanking new autos, relying on their price. New autos costing above ₹50 lakh now entice 21% tax.

Interestingly, the Transport Department elevated the tax slab for company-owned autos. Such autos will now have life tax charges starting from 15% to 25%, and can be contingent upon their price. An further 2% surcharge over the usual charges for second or extra autos can be relevant.
