Week-long Visakha Book Festival to begin on December 27

A week-long ‘Visakha Book Festival’ will be held from December 27, 2025, to January 2, 2026, at the Exhibition Grounds behind the AU Convention Centre on Beach Road. The organisers, including the Vijayawada Book Festival Society, announced this on Saturday (December 20, 2025).

The poster for the Book Festival was unveiled by former MLC M.V.S. Sarma at Alluri Vignana Kendra in Dabagardens on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sarma said that Visakhapatnam city has always been a major centre for reading and urged the residents to take full advantage of the Book Festival, which offers a collection of world-class books.

K. Laxmaiah, Secretary of the Vijayawada Book Festival Society, said that they are making more than one lakh book titles available in one place with the cooperation of over 100 publishers. He said that there is a need to organise such book festivals in all district centres of the State.

He specifically mentioned that the North Andhra region is the heartland of literature and reading, and requested the people of Visakhapatnam to fully utilise this opportunity and support the Book Festival.
